Well Child Checks
Kids grow up so quickly and because your child is growing at a fast pace, it’s important to keep an eye on their wellness each year. By scheduling a yearly well-child check, you’re ensuring your child’s health is assessed by a pediatrician you can trust.
Seeing your doctor for regularly scheduled well child checks is very important for your child’s health. Each well child check is customized to your child’s age. Your child’s provider will focus on developmental milestones and see how much your child has grown in the time since your last visit. They will be familiar with your child’s medical history and be able to address concerns more accurately. Most importantly, regular visits give your child’s doctor the opportunity to find possible problems early and prevent serious illness.
Behavioral Health Appointments
Children with medical problems can also have emotional, behavioral, or social problems. It is helpful to understand how these problems affect each other so they can be addressed. A pediatric primary care behavioral health clinician can help you and your primary care provider (PCP) make a plan and set goals.
Pediatric primary care behavioral health clinicians are here for any child that may need help working through emotional or behavioral problems, such as anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD and school problems like learning and bullying. These problems may or may not be related to a medical problem.
Our behavioral health clinician helps children with everyday problem, too, such as:
- Eating healthy and increasing physical activity
- Practicing healthy sleep habits
- Taking medicine or swallowing pills
- Feeding problems or picky eating
- Toileting problems or challenges with toilet training
- Making a plan to help your child follow the PCP’s advice
